Andrew Hall

Shop Manager/Lead Mechanic

Born and raised right down the road in Pownal, VT, I have been working in bike shops since a very young age. I spent my early career working with my father Pete at Highlander Bicycle, where I first fell in love with the bicycle industry.

The desire to hone my mechanical skills and shop experience eventually led me to Silver City, New Mexico, where I worked as a mechanic for Gila Hike and Bike. There, I took a deep dive into developing technical skills as well as growing my desire to run a shop someday.

I returned to the area in summer 2022 to help get the Bike Hub up and running. My focus within the organization is primarily the retail and service department, where I act as Shop Manager and Lead Mechanic. I also run the Bike Hub volunteer program, The Bike Angels.

When I’m not in the shop, I can be found exploring old woods roads and off-trail peaks throughout the Green Mountains, Taconic Range, and the Northern Berkshires. As a former Appalachian trail thru-hiker, my love for hiking is right up there with riding. If you’re looking to chat about backpacking, route finding, or rigid steel mountain bikes, I’m your guy.

Mechanic

I am a passionate cyclist with a special love for e-bikes and the freedom they bring. Because of a visual impairment, I am unable to drive — but that hasn’t slowed the ride one bit. In fact, cycling (especially with a little electric assist) has been the key to independence, adventure, and everyday fun. Whether it’s helping a first-time rider understand pedal-assist, guiding a customer through the latest high-tech upgrades, or sharing tips for safe and enjoyable riding, I love to blend technical skill, patience, and genuine enthusiasm. In the shop, I am known for making customers feel at ease, answering questions without jargon, and finding solutions tailored to each rider’s needs. Outside of work, you’ll often find me exploring scenic routes, testing new e-bike models, and showing others that cycling is for everyone — no matter their challenges or limitations.
